Reconciling Congregation

First Lutheran Church

Pastor Pam Marolla

Reverend Doctor Pamela Marolla aka Pastor Pam has been at First Lutheran since November, 2012. She is married to Vince, who is also a pastor in the ELCA, now serving Beacon of Hope Hospice and interim pastor at Bethany Lutheran in Woodhull. They have two grown children. Christina has recently moved to Galesburg to serve as a paramedic with the Galesburg Hospital Ambulance Service. David is a mechanical engineer in southeast WI.

Starting as a church musician for her home congregation at the age of 15, Pastor Pam went on to St. Olaf College to get a Bachelor of Music degree in Church Music. Serving churches as a musician led to a sense of call to ordained ministry. She has a Master of Arts in Pastoral Theology and Ministry, a Masters of Divinity from Luther Seminary and a Doctor of Ministry Degree.

Aside from God, the church and her family, Pastor Pam is passionate about social justice, making music (community band, chorus, pit orchestras, orchestras, and chamber groups) and coming home to her pets. She also enjoys reading, gardening, kayaking, and canoeing.

She says, "First Lutheran’s Mission Statement is 'We are called to serve and share the good news.' It is a privilege to be able to share this mission with the members and friends of this congregation!"

Bob Fornander, FLC Director of Music Ministries

Bob is an Augustana graduate with a bachelor’s in vocal performance and music education. He earned a Master’s in vocal performance from the University of Minnesota. Bob retired from teaching bands and choirs at AlWood Middle/High School in Woodhull where he and his wife, Vera, currently live.

Bob was a founding member of Nova Singers and performed with them for 18 years. He has been very active with Prairie Players Civic Theater being on stage, directing and working in the scene shop. Bob plays many styles of guitar as well as banjo and mandolin. He plays and sings with an Irish trio, The Don’t Be Brothers.

He and Vera have two dogs, two inside cats and several “porch cats” that usually show up as well as a mooching opossum, Howard.

Bob is honored and thrilled to be on the staff of this terrific church!
