One of the best ways for a church to do God’s work is through community involvement. First Lutheran is a big supporter of its community.
We have many opportunities for our congregation to help our fellow brothers and sisters.
The purpose of this committee is to find ways to serve like Christ and show love to all our brothers and sisters. We are involved in programs that support our Northern Illinois Synod, the local community and our congregation to provide ministry for those in need. Projects we routinely provide:
• Food Pantry
• Transportation to Worship
• Christian Community for Helping Neighbors (C.C.H.N.)
• Cookies for first responders
• Healthy Heart Screenings
• Mitten Tree
• Ministry to the Homebound
